Roy Bromley, a leading insurance underwriter for Lloyd's of London, has been found dead.

Mr Bromley's body was discovered on Wednesday. A post-mortem disclosed that he died from shotgun wounds to the heart. Police said the death was not suspcious. It is thought that about 1,000 names of the R.J. Bromley syndicate 475, where Mr Bromley, 71, was a majority shareholder and underwriter, could be facing losses of more than 300 per cent of the syndicate's 1989 capacity.
